Using KOrganizer version 4.1.0 (SuSE 11.0)
When creating a new event, and applying a template, the meeting time switches from the time selected to the default setting. Under SuSE 10.3, KOrganizer maintained the user setting. This is a nuisance bug as the user has to manually set the start and stop times, twice. First, when selecting the time on the calendar. Then again after selecting a template.
that works fine here on KDE 4.1.2 on Opensuse 11.1Beta4. Can you tell me more about the template used? I created only a blank dummy template for testing purposes.

I just did another test and have to refine my earlier statement. To set up the template, I selected a time to open up a new event. Next, I put in a title, and a message. Then I saved the template. Now, when you set up a new event at a different time, and apply the template, the new event time shifts to the time of day that appeared when the template was established. In other words, applying the template overrides the new event’s title, message, email attendance list, and unfortunately the time of day. Thank goodness it doesn’t override the date. Hopefully this bug can get fixed before the next release.
to me it sounds like you created a template which contains a time. IMO that makes sense for certain recurring events, so I think that is working as designed.

The issue is that there is no way of creating a template without selecting a time of day. I just tried creating a template, and I deleted the time so it was blank. The template created has the start and stop time set for 12:00AM.
Note that templates in the version of Kontact associated with SuSE 10.3 allowed for a timeless template and time was introduced on the fly when creating a new event. This old feature was very useful.
I see. The best way to get this solved is probably a bugreport (bugzilla.novell.com)

Thanks for all the help. I posted a bug report earlier today.
