Problems checking repositories and other

Hello!

Administrator caf4926 suggested i post this here…

This thread:
KPackageKit

It started with Kpackagekit, and so you don’t read the whole thread if you don’t want to, i’ll explain here.

Basically, whenever i check repositories with sudo zypper refresh, or open up YaST, it takes forever for either to check them, and sometimes they fail.
Just like when (you can see at the end of the thread), i try to get new color profiles through desktop settings or something, new widgets, whatever, it fails to check the link. Ktorrent and Browsing work fine.

I only have problems with suse related connections… Don’t know how to explain it correctly…

Can anyone help me?

Bad mirrors, perhaps. On what region of the world do you live?

I was sure that you would miss important information now and then lol! And that is why I tell you. Because the OP most certainly would not understand why you asked this while she/he has filled this in to be seen by all here.

Ok, i’m a man, so, “he”.

Now… Bad mirrors? Where can i change that? Or check…
And yes i’m from Croatia.

pick one close by…except, if you need to hit it during normal ‘work
time’ in Croatia, you might find one on the dark side of the world
might be faster (some mirrors who donate the band width will
throttle back during local ‘work hours’, see the full list here:
http://mirrors.opensuse.org/

DD
openSUSE®, the “German Automobiles” of operating systems

But since the speed issue is only on refresh, I find that rather odd and not typical of a mirror issue.
But it could be worth a try if you are confident in replacing your repos with ones from a list near you
