Problem with wireless

I have a HP Pavilion dv5000 laptop with AMD Turion 64-bits and OpenSuse 10.3. OpenSuse recognizes my wireless board (BCM4311 802.11 a/b/g) but I do not have wireless access to internet. Yast configuration is hotplug.

Can someone help me?

This posting should have been in Network / Wireless.

The kernel in 10.3 is too old to support the BCM4311. Your options are
to upgrade to 11.0, or download and install a 2.6.26.2 kernel. Once
you do that, you will still need to install the firmware. For openSUSE
11.0, all you would need to do is enter the command ‘sudo
/usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware’. With a 10.3 system and the
2.6.26.2 kernel, go to
http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#firmwareinstallation
and follow the appropriate instructions.
