Problem with wine install

Hi, I don’t know if this is the right place, but I have a problem with wine.

I’m using openSuSE 10.3 and installed wine. I needed a more recent version, so added the community repository, and tried to upgrade wine & wine-doors to the latest version. wine-doors wants a component (orange) which isn’t in the base 10.3 repository or the wine repository.

I found the component in the SynCE repository, so added that. This repository seems to be corrupted as zypper won’t parse the downloaded metadata.

Any advice would be welcome, and can you also advise where I should report these two bugs.

Thanks
David

Have you tried to “refresh” that repo?

What is the exact message you are getting?

2 bugs… which ones?

Well, if the repo is missing any required package, yes, that’s a bug and you
can report it on bugzilla, but maybe you are only experiencing some “mirror
glitch” or “network problem”.

As for the second bug… I cannot see it :-?

You meant the need of a package that is no available in “base” repo? That’s
a kind of “feature”

Greetings,

Camaleón

Thanks.

It seems the problem with the repository is known. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=490136

I’ve also been told that the wine community repository is “broken” so best to build from source :frowning:

Are you sure this repo is the same as yours? This one seems to be for “XFCE”
and yours is “SynCE” :-?

Anyway, the bug is marked as “closed and fixed” so should be no problems at
all.

Oh, better report it to Bugzilla so they can fix it

Gretings,

Camaleón

The bug with the repository is something to do with the underlying mechanism so potentially affects all 10.3 repositories. They’d rebuilt most to clear the problem, but obviously forgot this one :\

I reported the wine bug, and there is little interest in fixing it in 10.3.

I’ve resolved the issue for me, and satisfied myself the right people are aware of the other problems.

Thanks,

David

Wine itself should work fine from the repository. If it does not, mail me.

Wine-doors is known to be broken in there.

Please discuss about the solutions here on the forums. Maybe somebody also interested in it.
Thank you.
