hello
i just installed vmware player download from ‘VMware: Virtualization
via Hypervisor, Virtual Machine & Server Consolidation - VMware’
(http://www.vmware.com/ )
i download the rpm package
and when i installed vmware player i see vmware marked in the yast2
list
but in the kde menu i cannot find any match about vmware
in the console i can also not find anything about vmware
looks like it did not install anything at all
make is installed
kernel-source is installed
gcc is installed
gcc-c++ is installed
can somebody help me ?

It should be called vmplayer and lives in /usr/bin

Download the “bundle” version instead of the rpm and simply run the
downloaded bundle file as root: “sh whateverfilename.bundle”
That will start a GUI installer.

Just to add that you can easily install the rpm like I just did to
upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5.1.

You can uninstall it from YaST when you wish to upgrade.
Make sure you remove the rpm if you installed from YaST however because
it will not work.
