Hi
It should be called vmplayer and lives in /usr/bin

Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890)
openSUSE 11.0 x86 Kernel 2.6.25.18-0.2-default
up 2 days 16:38, 1 user, load average: 0.83, 0.55, 0.50
GPU GeForce 6600 TE/6200 TE - Driver Version: 177.82

Download the “bundle” version instead of the rpm and simply run the
downloaded bundle file as root: “sh whateverfilename.bundle”
That will start a GUI installer.

Just to add that you can easily install the rpm like I just did to
upgrade from 2.5 to 2.5.1.

Code:

matt@Linux11:~> su
Password:
Linux11:/home/matt # cd /home/matt/downloads
Linux11:/home/matt/downloads # rpm -Uhv VMware-Player-2.5.1-126130.x86_64.rpm
Preparing… ########################################### [100%]
1:VMware-Player ########################################### [100%]
Extracting VMware Installer…done.
Installing VMware Installer 1.0

Installing VMware Player 2.5.1

Installing VMware Player 2.5.1

Installation was successful

You can uninstall it from YaST when you wish to upgrade.
Make sure you remove the rpm if you installed from YaST however because
it will not work.
