After downloading the ‘gspcav1-20071224 web cam driver’
(http://http://mxhaard.free.fr/download.html) to use a Logitech QuickCam
Chat in openSuse 11.1 I was not able to complete this ‘outlined
procedure’ (http://http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/softinstall.html).
When I entered the configure command {./configure} in the Gnome
Terminal, the following message appeared onscreen:
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
The Read and Install file states:
Well, first you need to compile the driver (see below), then you need
to make
sure that -the v4l infrastructure is set up- and then load the driver.
After
you’ve done that, any v4l enabled application, such as spcaview, gqcam,
xawtv,
gnomemeeting, camE etc should work.
How is the v4l infrastructure set up? Will then the remaining tar
commands work properly in openSuse 11.1?

Could you please outline how to “install gcc, make and kernel source”?
