Problem with skype

Hello again to everybody!!
I have also a small problem the last months.
I use skype, and several times when i have it open, more often when i am using it, the hole system stuck with no response. The mouse stop moving, the keyboard does not work, even control + alt + backspace does not work! The only available choice is to reboot the computer. What could cause this problem?

11.3 but i had the same problems in 11.2

                 In another forum thread here, one issue was the source of the skype files.  Here is the suggested source.

There also seemed to be some benefit in checking your multimedia setup, message #40 has the most recent script:

I also have a script to check your audio setup and gives you the ability to determine if turning the Pulseaudio server on or off makes any difference.
