Hi,
I have a problem and i’m curious are somebody other have problem similar to my and are find some solution for it… So the problem it’s next: banshee player its default for audio/video in system info/default applications; i install gnome-mplayer, vlc player and try to make them (not in same time course) default app for video but unfortunately i can’t do that 
The only possible choice its banshee player and i try many times to change that but with no luck Even change some video files like .avi default application to open with (right click, properties, defaul app.) but still no luck - in system default application only banshee can be set for opening video files… Have anybody stuck with problem like that and are find some solution?.. I search hours in google but nowhere find some similar problem…
Any ideas are welcome and thanks in advance for help
So in KDE, I normally open up a File Manager, like Dolphin, find a file like the one I want to use or play, right click on the media file and select Open With and pick the application, already loaded on your system, as the player. Since you are in a Desktop, you normally can’t pick players like mplayer, but must select a GUI player that might use mplayer, such as smplayer for instance. Once you select the default this way, it will also be used when in Firefox as well. It helps if you can get the media type you want to change onto your computer some where.
