Problem with opensuse grub

Good night community,
I have install Win 7 and Opensuse 12.3 on a 64 Bits machine
I’m very happy with the Linux distribution is really good
But I have a serius problem:
The Grub2 allowme to start in Opensuse only 3 or 4 times after the installation and then impossible to start again opensuse (Win7 works fine) the computer reboots automatically going to a loop.
I had try several thinks like change the boot way, install Grub in text mode, change HD, and others but there is no solution. When I install Fedora 18 it works correctly but I want to keep opensuse becuase of his performace.
Could someone helpme please, tahnks in advance.

Sincerly. Bernardo

Apologies if ther is any duplication I’m new in this Forum

How are you booting? Specifically, do you first see a grub menu, or have you set it up so that you select linux/grub from a WIndows boot menu?

Thankyou for the answer Nrickert,

I’m using the first option you describe so the fisrt thing I see when computer starts is the opensuse Grub 2 then I can choice Linux (first option) or Windows 7

Cheers. Bernardo

There should also be a line for “Advanced options” (probably the second line of the grub menu).

That will give another menu. And one of the lines there will be to boot in recovery mode.

Give that a try.

While booting that way, there will be many messages on the screen. If it fails to boot, the last few messages might give a hint at the problem.
