Problem with NetworkManager in openSUSE11

Hi,

I’ve been trying to get the network manager to work on my HP Pavillion dv6000, to no avail.

It has an nvidia ethernet and b43 wireless. Both work just fine, if activated at boot time through ifup, but network manager just does nothing with them.

If I set the system up to use network manager, KNetworkManager is “empty” (no devices, no drop-down in “new connection” etc) and no amount of tweaking settings seem to help.

That said, it is working perfectly on my Dell Latitude (intel chipset).

Any tips or directions, anyone…?

Only one way can be chose.
ifup or NetworkManager

Network Manager has issues.
My recommendation would be, use ifup for now.
It should be fixed in 11.1. My understanding is
there was quite a bit of code change put into the
one shipping with 11.0 and for various reasons it
didn’t get enough dev time.
