Hello,

so, how long have you been nurturing a copy of OpenSuse 10.0 for? It would be deemed “rather elderly” now and most would say install OpenSuse 11.1;
others would say: put a distro on your Eee that is perhaps more tailor made for an Eee: eg crunchbang;
CrunchBang Linux - A Lightweight Openbox Linux Distro (I have put crunchbang on to a 2G USB stick and run an Eee from that)
or easy peasy; it is very nice:
Easy Peasy - Ubuntu for Netbooks
or Eeebuntu: the first two are quick and nimble and recognise the wireless of the Eee “out of the box”; as does Eeebuntu
if you are just starting with linux, best to make things easy for yourself;
some would say OpenSuse is a bit like a V12 Mercedes; very comfortable, but perhaps not designed for narrow streets
Thank you for replying my mesg.
I understand there are other linux that are better for my eee pc, but i bought this linux(opensuse 10.0) a WHILE ago, and I like it. Just want to know a way to install the hardware, that all.
**I did not know about eeeubuntu, Im going to check it.
I have an Asus 900A. When I trashed the original Xandros based O.S. I tried eeeBuntu. I did not like it, although I must say it did work. Since I use Suse 10.3 on four different computers I tried to install that version on it. It was complicated and I never did get the wireless working properly. It uses an obscure wireless card with little support.
Then I installed Suse 11.1 on it and everything worked and it was much faster than either the original Xandros or eeeBuntu. I did not have a USB DVD drive and installed from a USB stick. That’s a little more complicated, so I suggest the DVD install instead.
thanks for this feedback; interested to hear you felt OpenSuse 11.1 was quick;
