Problem with mouse & ATI drivers

Hello,

I’ve got a very strange problem. I’ve installed the ATI propietary drivers and now, when I start a game like quake3, openarena, tremolous, etc. I can only play if the screen resolution is 640x480.
If another resolution is chosen, the mouse seems crazy and moves to wrong directions and slowly. It has a non-logical movement.

With the radeon driver the games become extremely slow and I can’t play.

Thank you very much, here I post my xorg.conf:

I am pretty new to this distro but judging by your xorg.conf you have two mice? myself I would backup your xorg.conf and change that
heres what I see that could be conflicting

Section “InputDevice”
Identifier “Mouse[1]”
Driver “evdev”
Option “InputFashion” “Mouse”
Option “Name” “Logitech Media Play Mouse”
Option “Pass” “3”
Option “Vendor” “Sysp”
Option “evBits” “+1-2”
Option “keyBits” “~272-287”
Option “relBits” “~0-2 ~6 ~8”
EndSection

Section “InputDevice”
Identifier “Mouse[3]”
Driver “mouse”
Option “Buttons” “5”
Option “Device” “/dev/input/mice”
Option “Name” “ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse”
Option “Protocol” “explorerps/2”
Option “Vendor” “Sysp”
Option “ZAxisMapping” “4 5”

and also I would change the driver name in here to fglrx

Section “Device”

#BusID “1:0:0”
Identifier “Device[0]”
Driver “radeon” change this to “fglrx”
VendorName “ATI”
BoardName “Radeon X700 (RV410) (PCIE)”
Option “GARTSize” “32”
EndSection

but like I said I am new to this distro so Back it up before you do any changes

yeah it worked!

I changed radeon to fglrx and then the mouse. I have made those changes:

#InputDevice "Mouse[1]" "CorePointer"
#InputDevice "Mouse[3]" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice	"MouseDavid"

#Section "InputDevice"
#	Identifier "Mouse[1]"
#	Driver "evdev"
#	Option "InputFashion" "Mouse"
#	Option "Name" "Logitech Media Play Mouse"
#	Option "Pass" "3"
#	Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
#	Option "evBits" "+1-2"
#	Option "keyBits" "~272-287"
#	Option "relBits" "~0-2 ~6 ~8"
#EndSection

#Section "InputDevice"
#	Identifier "Mouse[3]"
#	Driver "mouse"
#	Option "Buttons" "5"
#	Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
#	Option "Name" "ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse"
#	Option "Protocol" "explorerps/2"

#	Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
#EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "MouseDavid"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
EndSection

And it worked!

Thank you very much!

David

Your quite welcome
