i have suse 11.1 but i cant make my scanner microtec 3840 to work.
i configure with yast and find the scaner then edit find the driver microtec 3840 finish but when open scanlite or kooka nothing the scanner dont work.

Yes, I have had the same problem with a scanner on 11.1. I looked through some of the mailing list bug reports and saw that some one got it working by going Alt+F2 to get the command window up the running kdesu [scan command of you choice] ie kdesu xsane or kdesu skanlite are one that have worked for me. Be aware you are running the command as ROOT
i running kdesu xsane and kdesu skanlite and kdesu kooka but nothing.
kooka find the scanner but when open nothing.

Just a thought - have a look at /etc/udev/rules.d for rules pertaining to scanners. Could be a permissions issue that needs adjusting (adding the relevant user to the appropriate group for example).
