problem with kppp & smpppd

I installed opensuse 11.0 with KDE 4.1 on my HP lap. I have a dialup net connection. when i log in as kraj (non-root) i can’t dial using kppp,says “you don’t have enough permissions …CUPID set…”.kppp works fine when logged in as root.

kinternet doesn’t work in any case.“connection to local & remote server refused.may be smpppd is not running or you are not a member of group DIALOUT.check server settings in dialog various setting”.
I checked the setting but it didn’t work.what to do?

Hi krrishnaraj, welcome to the Forums.

To check Dialout goto Yast → security and users → highlight and “Edit” your name. Click Details. Check Dialout is check marked.

To check smpppd, goto Yast → system → runlevels and switch the smpppd daemon on.
