0.My home directory is leon
1.Open KDE Help Center
2.Go to Search Tab
3.Application Manual Index Status OK
4.Select Application Manual Index
5.Write the search term “lskat” and press Search button
6.Click on the only result
The following message box appears:
The file or folder
help:file:///home/leon/.kde4/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/kde_application_manuals.tmp/index.html
does not exits
Also in the main window of khelpcenter the following message appears:
There is no documentation available for /file:/home/leon/.kde4/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/kde_application_manuals.tmp/index.html
AFAIK the absence of the documentation is because most of it has not been written for KDE4. Even if you install the KDE help, all you will get is the KDE3 documentation.
Hello,
I have KDE Help Center Version 4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) “release 3” and I’m not able to build search indexes.
In the search option scope I can only see Unix Manual pages.
If I select Settings → Build Search Index in the new Build Search Index Window I can see two search scopes with status:missing ( Applications Manuals and OpenSuse Documentation)
If I try to build index I’ve the following error: ".main: indexDir: “file:///home/<home_dir_name>/.kde4/share/apps/khelpcenter/index/” (4506) main: access denied even if the command is run with root privileges.
I can try to reinstall khelpcenter if this can solve the issue
