Problem with Gtk2chtheme

I recently installed gtk2-chtheme on my OpenSUSE 11.1 system…
everything was working fine till then…
Now after switching themes with it, I cant switch themes normally through my desktop appearence preferences…the theme doesnt change if I do that or the whole system freezes.

I removed gtk2-chtheme…but all the settings done by it still remained and themes would only partially change…some settings like colors still remained…

So now, I can only use this theme changer to switch themes and cant do it through desktop appearence preferences

I want to get rid of this application, restore my previous settings and get my SUSE desktop back to normal…how am I supposed to do that??? Can I do it without a reinstall?? I want to completely get rid of that app as if it was never installed…

Please help!!

Try renaming your ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file.

yup renamed…what should I do next?? I hope u understood what my problem is…

Gtk2-chtheme has taken control and if I need to fully change a theme…I need to use it…

Trying to change themes normally through appearence preferences causes the new theme to retain some aspects of the previous theme (coz the previous theme is still enabled in gtk2-chtheme)

Or the system freezes…

Edit: Well, renaming the file seems to have solved the problem…I can change themes using Appearence preferences…
Thanx a lot!!

So can I uninstall gtk2-chtheme now?? Or will there be any side effects??

No, you are safe to install the application. Renaming the file just reset the preferences.
