My Graphics card is Nvidia getforce 7025
I tried to find driver using YaST. It downloaded something and i got installed something.
But the resolution of my computer is still 1024. But it should support 1386 * 768
Please give me some help to install nivdia drivers.

Look for sax2 in the menu and run it
See if you can set it up there.

Do you have installed the nvidia drivers from the nvidia-repository yet? If “Yes”, you have a nvidia systemicon in “configuration”, were you can set up your resolution and other things, depending on your monitor and graphic card.

In Sax2, I dont see Nvidia name there.
In Applications, I saw “NIVIDA X SERVER SETTINGS”
I have attached the screen shot. I am not able to make any changes there.

Also please run
lsmod | grep nvidia
It should return something like this.
lsmod | grep nvidia

Also check and make sure glx is installed.
zypper se glx
Check your /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if glx is loading properly. I’ll bet that it’s not. It could be as simple as Xorg may have glx capitalized.

OK, lsmod | grep nvidia returns nothing because no driver, aka module, is loaded. The “se” that you used with zypper; zypper se nvidia which shows you have 2 packages installed. One package is from Xorg, and in the Xorg.config it would be nv, where the nvidia driver would be nvidia.
First thing you have to do is install the nvidia driver. You want these;
nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default
x11-video-nvidiaG01 not the x11-video-nvidia
nvidia-gfx-kmp-default
Now I’ll post my xorg.config so that you can compare. The xorg.config is found here; /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Now please, only use my config file as a guide. I have a different nvidia card then you do. The principle is the same though.

Hi,
I lost my display in linux.
I tried to install this driver from YaST (nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default)
it successfully installed the driver and said, there was a change in the kernal and asked me to restart.
After the restart, I am not go into the graphical interface.
In terminal, I tried init 5, But the screen got blinked for few times and i got an error message.
X Server is failed or something. Check X server error log.
I gave /sbin/shutdown -ar now to restrat
Sorry if I have done anything wrongly.

You have a Model: “nVidia GeForce 7025”
That is a geforce 7
It requires: nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default
NOT
nvidia-gfxG01-kmp-default
Boot to level 3 and start yast like this
Level 3 Boot and Yast - Windows Live
Start Yast - Software Management and install the correct packages
