Hi
When I tried to change some settings in Sound Preferences/Hardware tab (messing with arecord & xvidcap), my GNOME session got hanged up. After rebooting also, I have the same problem i.e GNOME is working and sound also working, but I cannot change anything in the Sound Preferences. If I changed I am loosing sound completely. Also, earlier I used to get my sound card listed in Sound Preferences/Hardware tab. Now everything gone

What should I do now? Should I reinstall the system completely ? Or is there is anyway to reinstall only gnome? Any suggestions?
