Problem with get to wrok Amavis new 2.7.0 on OpenSuSE 12.1 box

Hi,

After clear installation 12.1 cant get amavis to work, (seems its broken, same configuration working well on 11.4 on Vbox machine)

rcamavis status
redirecting to systemctl
amavis.service - LSB: Start amavisd-new
          Loaded: loaded (/etc/init.d/amavis)
          Active: failed since Thu, 15 Dec 2011 18:32:24 +0100; 48min ago
         Process: 1971 ExecStart=/etc/init.d/amavis start (code=exited, status=7/NOTRUNNING)
          CGroup: name=systemd:/system/amavis.service
                  â 2069 /usr/sbin/amavisd (master)
                  â 2277 /usr/sbin/amavisd (virgin child)
                  â 2278 /usr/sbin/amavisd (virgin child)

this is a error in logs

(!)Net::Server: 2011/12/15-03:25:29 Can't connect to TCP port 10024 on 127.0.0.1 [Address already in use]
at line 88 in file /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.14.2/Net/Server/Proto/TCP.pm

But port 10024 was owned by amavis itself,

netstat -nap --numeric-ports | grep 10024
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:10024 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 2069/amavisd (maste

also “amavis stop” don’t kill main and slave processes.

How to fix that? or ho to downgrade to Amavis new 2.6x ?who seems works well.

Hi,

the same problem on different installations (KDE, text mode server, LXDE. It seems amavis has been started even it has not actived in yast->system->run levels" because of the error message presented after each try.
I have check the father process of amavis is INIT. Real strange.

Just a wild guess. Maybe systemd is the culprit ? Try switching to sysvinit. You need to use F5 during boot to switch.

Best regards,
Greg

Hi,

thanks for reply, i try both method for innit - both fail to get run amavis.

I switch back to 11.4 and wait until anavis or openSISE dev crew fixing that.

Have another question, it is the way to bring VirtualBox machine to real machine, i mean copy all from VM to real host, same or another?

Best regards,

Czeslaw
