Problem with first installation of openSUSE

Hello… just decided today to install opensuse… after unsolved problem with ubuntu…

i started opensuse with live cd… installed it… it did everthying correctly, told me to shutdown…and restart the pc without the cd… did it… but… just when the OS splsh screen should come up… the screen goes blank… and everything stops.

thank you for any answer…

oh… btw…

opensuse 11 … kde4 … iso is intact… cd is perfect… no other problem except for the one mentioned above.

At the boot screen add booting parameter:


acpi=off spalsh=0

and boot.
Where it stops? Error message?

no error message… no command line… totally blank… as if the pc was off… but it isnt…

You don’t need command line. Type these parameters at the OS splash screen.

Did you load the CD while within Windows and launch the installation from there? Or did you boot the machine from the LiveCD into openSUSE and then choose installation from there?

What version of Windows?
