Problem with Evolution in 12.1

I just upgraded to 12.1 from 11.3. I’m running KDE, but I use evolution
as a mailer.

I note that my /home area is small but that I have a big disk available.
In 11.3, I put a soft link in so that

~/.evolution → /mybigdisk/.evolution

This made all the emails end up on my big disk and it worked fine

However, when I upgraded to 12.1 (and Evolution 3.2.3), I found that
evolution didn’t find any of my mailboxes or contacts. Apparently,
the newer version of evolution doesn’t use the .evolution directory
anymore so it just ignored my existing soft link.

I did try importing a mailbox from one of my old mailboxes into the new
evolution. That worked, but I see that the new evolution is putting
the mail somewhere on /home and I don’t have room to import
all my mail into the new version.

I found a directory ~/.config/evolution which appears to be for the
new version, but all the files in there are small and are not the
actual mail files. But where are the actual mail files? If I
can find them, I can do the same trick with a soft link to my
big disk.

In addition to this directory, Evolution 3 uses

~/.local/share/evolution/
~/.camel_certs/

Thanks very much. I’ll try the soft link game on those directories. The
local/share/evolution one is clearly the actual mail files.
