Problem with DVD-ROM after emergency shutdown

Hi!
I opened a dvd, highlighted loads of media and hit enter not thinking, and so it opened like 15 copies of xine and froze the system, so i absent mindedly held the power button until it switched off and now the dvd drive isnt recognised. Just for the lulz, I tried dmesg to see if anything useful appeared:

w83627hf: Found W83697HF chip at 0x290
ACPI: I/O resource w83627hf [0x295-0x296] conflicts with ACPI region W782 [0x295-0x296]

Mean anything to anyone?

Pentium
OpenSUSE 11.1

Thanks for your help in advance,

That is the hardware monitor dhipset by the looks of it has nothing to do
with the DVD.

What is the result of:

mount

in a console or:

cat /etc/mtab

maybe the impromptu shutdown has left the DVD still sorta confused and
appearing mounted.

Don’t worry, it’s all fixed. All is well!

Thanks

So, What did you do?
Thanx

OK, Thanks for all your help. My computer is a dual boot with Win xp. The dvd works fine with xp. I’ve tried all/most of the things listed but still a no go.
