Problem with Codecs of google video

Hi everybody,

I have a problem with the google videos. I can’t watch any movie. Every time I try to watch I only get the play logo as a picture. When I try to open it, a window message appears which inform me about the lack of a codec. It also asks me, if I want to find the suitable codec.
This is the site I get: Software.openSUSE.org

Though I can’t figure out how am I going to solve my problem. Any suggestions?

I have openSuse 11.1 and although everything worked fine, before I formated my computer, now I don’t know what happened.

You’re running things with the limited possibilities openSUSE comes with, due to patents etc.
First: enable the Videolan repo, and install libdvdcss from there.
Then: disable the Videoland repo and enable the Packman repo
Then: install libxine, libxine-codecs, k3b-codecs. These will pull in a lot of other packages, all multimedia related. Install anything starting with libdvd.

I did what you said but it didn’t work. :frowning:
