Hello,
Anyone else having problems when trying to render a video in kdenlive?
I have narrowed down the problem to ‘melt’ which segmentation faults immidiately when rendering should start. When running melt in konsole there aren’t any informative error messages - just ‘Segmentation fault’.
I have installed kdenlive, melt and libmlt packages from Packman repository but the problem persists also when using the main repository (or multimedia:libs for melt and libmlt).
Any suggestions how to solve this problem? I have Tumbleweed installed in my Laptop and there melt works fine…
At the moment I have installed:
- kdenlive (16.08.2 from Packman)
- melt/melt6/libmlt6/libmlt6-data/libmlt-modules/libmlt++3 (6.2.0 from Packman)
My LEAP 42.2 installation is not updated from previous version. Only necessary multimedia and NVidia package installations and security updates have been made.
Did you do the vendor switch to packman??
Yep.
I’ve tried vendor switch to ‘Packman’ and ‘multimedia:libs’. Same problem…
First you try to find the solution alone for couple of days and finally you find it right after asking help from others. So typical… lol!
This problem was caused by frei0r-plugins package which was needed by *openshot *(version 1.4.3 from Packman).
Uninstalling frei0r-plugins and updating openshot to openshot-qt (version 2.2.0) solved the problem with melt.
Hi, I have the same problem with OpenSuse Leap 42.2 Installed on new SSD.
The system is clean with minimum updates and repo for multimedia.
To test i can simply go in terminal and run melt that crash immediately with a segmentation fault error. No other messages.
I just tried to switch all to Packman repo
because previously I get the same problem in OpenSuse 13.2
and there switching to Packman repo solve the problem.
I use KDE with NVidia prop driver.
kdenlive 16.08.2-3.31
melt6 6.2.0-5.3
No problem playing videos.
Please help, thanks.
lol! Finally solve the problem thanks to kettumatti;)
This problem was caused by frei0r-plugins package.
This package don’t came from openshot in my case.
Uninstalling that without any problem.
Solved the problem with melt and kdenlive now go without any problem.
Thanks again kettumatti;)
Same problem here with Leap 42.2 - The trick seems to work !
Thank you !!!
I had removed and reinstalled plenty too. Turns out your suggestion fixed my problem as well. Good find!
