My Problem
For an half year ago I did a fresh install of SuSE 11.0. It is working fine without troubles.
Soft raid RAID1 is installed. Now experimenting with upgrading SuSE 11.1 I noticed that that no valid system is recognized on any of the partitions. That means that it is impossible to upgrade to 11.1. Only a new installation is allowed.
My upgrade procedure:
-
starting up the installation DVD
-
choosing “Update” in stead of " New installation"
Result

Repairing with openSuSE 11.0 DVD has the same result.

Question
Somewhere in the system files there must be an indication telling at start of the upgrade session what system is installed.
I would be pleased if someone can help me.
