Problem regards X server

Hi,

I’ve finish installing open suse 11 KDE 3.5 into my PC, the problem i’m facing now is i can’t use Xstart of exceed (any method) to connect as it’s error unable to connect to host using specified start method. For using putty to remote access is not a problem.

The problem i guess is i haven start X client in suse 11, or haven install the program inside. I do not know how to setup X client method in suse 11, anyone can help or guide on that?

Or anyone can share how to setup inside suse 11 or any version of linux to enable exceed to connect into it?

Thanks in advance.

Have you installed the drivers for you graphics card?

IIRC, I had a similar problem once, but I was trying to start X as normal user, not root, and the solution was to delete the file .ICEauthority from the user’s home folder (it get’s recreated). Better still, just rename the file, so you can rename it back if something goes wrong.
