problem of bumblebee in 13.1 x86_64

According the page : http://smithfarm-thebrain.blogspot.cz/2013/10/opensuse-131-nvidia-optimus-bumblebee.html , I use Overman79’s repository : http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Overman79:/Laptop/openSUSE_13.1/

But I can not install dkms-nvidia and x11-video-nvidia from the repository .

I use 13.1 x86_64 gnome 3.10 version.
How to do with it ?

Thanks

Are you sure you point to the correct repo?

I am sure : I use http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Overman79:/Laptop/openSUSE_13.1/ according to http://smithfarm-thebrain.blogspot.cz/2013/10/opensuse-131-nvidia-optimus-bumblebee.html .

Thanks

I installed the same versions of dkms-nvidia and x11-video-nvidia, from the same repository, a couple days ago and had no trouble. Please post the output of the following commands:

# zypper se -s dkms-nvidia
# zypper se -s x11-video-nvidia
# zypper lr Overman79

It is of interest to look at the NVIDIA installation script that is downloaded and is supposed to install the binary blob:

There you can see that the error occurs in the following line:

echo "Error in checksums $sum1 $CRCsum"

One plausible scenario for this to occur is that the file was not completely downloaded, or was corrupted somehow in transit. Try reinstalling the package via

zypper in -f

You do not want all packages you want only the packages for your architecture. It looks like you installed all packages.

I see. It is about the file NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-331.38.run, I do not download it completely.
This file is not in /var/cache, it is in /usr/src .
You must delete the file manually and rerun those install commands.

Now it is OK. Thanks

PS: How to mark the post as SOLVED ?

I got the same error the exit code is different

Unfortunately my GUI doesn’t work. My Hardware is:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK107M [GeForce GT 640M LE] (rev a1)

I got some more output. Running the installation command

zypper in dkms dkms-nvidia dkms-bbswitch bumblebee primus x11-video-nvidia

I got the following error message

I have the obj directory installed it seems to looking for the …/…/…/linux-3.11.10-7: directory. How can I get it?

I appreciate very much any help

Apparently you don’t have kernel-devel-3.11.10-7.1 installed.
Try to (re-)install it even if you do have it installed, since apparently that directory is missing.

sudo zypper in -f kernel-devel-3.11.10-7.1

After installing kernel source the make error log changed like this

DKMS make.log for bbswitch-0.8 for kernel 3.11.10-7-desktop (x86_64)

Hm, maybe you are missing other devel packages for 3.11.10-7 as well?

rpm -qa | grep kernel

In particular try (re-)installing kernel-desktop-devel-3.11.10-7.1.

vaio-i5:~ # rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-devel-3.11.10-7.1.noarch
kernel-devel-3.11.6-4.1.noarch
kernel-desktop-3.11.6-4.1.x86_64
kernel-source-3.11.10-7.1.noarch
texlive-l3kernel-2013.72.svn_4469svn29409-10.2.1.noarch
kernel-desktop-3.11.10-7.1.x86_64
kernel-firmware-20130714git-2.5.1.noarch
texlive-l3kernel-doc-2013.72.svn_4469svn29409-10.2.1.noarch
kernel-desktop-devel-3.11.6-4.1.x86_64
kernel-desktop-devel-3.11.10-7.1.x86_64

kernel desktop reinstalled same problem

Hm, try to install the whole kernel development pattern then, as suggested in the tutorial (see the first post in this thread).

Either in YaST->Software Management->View->Patterns or with:

sudo zypper in -t pattern devel_kernel

Done with no positive results. I need my laptop to work, try to reinstall could be wise?

Sadly I’m enable to use the intel graphic driver. After removed the nvidia packages I’m not able to get X windows working

If you have a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, remove it.
If you have “nomodeset” added to the kernel boot options, remove it.

Remove all the other packages you installed like bumblebee, primus, dkms, dkms-nvidia, dkms-bbswitch.

If it doesn’t work still, please post /var/log/Xorg.0.log.

Btw, did you follow the guide in the first post for installing Bumblebee?
This explains how to completely uninstall it as well, right at the beginning.

Yes my system worked fine till last update…
File Xorg.0.log is too long I left only intel echos
