Problem installing xrdp

Hi guys,

I am using opensuse 12.2 with XFCE desktop.I have downloaded latest version of xrdp , compiled and installed it.Now when I am trying to connect it shows "error loading libvnc.so specified in xrdp.ini please specify valid" error. Can you guide me solve this error.

thanks in advance.

libvnc.so is found in the application xorg-x11-server version 7.6 so you might look to see if that is loaded and what version it is. Sounds like you might want to look at the xrdp.ini file as well, though I don’t know what format it expects to see.

Thank You,

Yeah I have installed x11-xorg-server 7.6 but nothing happens the same error .
If you have any other procedure for setting up xrdp please guide me.

thank you.

After looking at a few posts on xrdp it looks like you also need the package called “x11rdp_xorg71”, have a look here: Welcome! and here: xrdp source code, have you compiled and installed this package as well?

Thank You,

Why compile and install from sources? software.opensuse.org:

Thanks for your replies but I have tried installing xrdp from the repositories also but xrdp fails to start.

“x11rdp_xorg71” is not the same file you say is installed. Re-examine the links I posted where this file is mentioned and confirm you also have this installed.

Thank You,

yeah I have installed it but same problem persists.

In such a case then, it must be the version it does not like. I thought I found one place where it wanted version 7.1 I think, while we are at 7.6, but then I just lost the trail. In the end though, I think you need to pose the problem to the authors, if you can locate them.

Thank You,
