problem instaling suse to flash drive using live cd

I’m having problem instaling Suse 11 to sony 8 Gb flash drive using steps provided at pendrive linux.per steps live cd works fine.however flash drive mounts automatic and can not uncheck property for automatic mounting as second step. I’m newbie to linux and just want to learn linux without affecting xp installation.

Hi
Which live CD if it’s KDE4, I would recommend finding the KDE3 live or
use the Gnome one to start with. The KDE4 one is buggy

I’m using suse 11.0 GNome LiveCD

Some useful general help here:
HOWTOs - openSUSE

Hi
That howto is KDE centric, in Gnome you need to disable via the Control
Center (On the ‘Computer’ menu) and select File Management and the the
media tab, make sure the two boxes at the bottom are unchecked and the
‘Media Handling’ section for software is set to do nothing.

As recommended disconnect you internal drive!!!

Thanks i’ll try it out and update as i have results.

It worked fine per malcom’s steps( however i had to chose manually my sony drive(sdb) as i have 2 sata that shows up as sda) but after reboot it had error stating not bootable media, and top of that windows want boot and had Grub error 21. I did remove that using super GRUB disk and i can us windows. I’m still willing to try if i get little more detail creating pendrive Suse.

Hi
As stated in the article, disconnect the exiting drives  If it’s only
going to run on one machine, I would look at installing vbox or vmware
and run a virtual machine with openSUSE on.
