Hello these are not repositories.
Try to install them

su
# zypper install vlc
# zypper install wine
# zypper install 11-video-fglrxG02-HP

Well, Repository is a program or group of programmes. You can recognize them with this way: they have …/repo… or *.repo
something like that.
You will use this command

su
# zypper addrepo -f <URL of repository>
# zypper refresh

Other programmes and libraries such as vlc, wine etc, you will use this command to install them

su
# zypper install <programm>

In where i should enter this codes.i entered these at konsole but not working.please help me.when i entered zypper refresh.retrieving repository '<repository name> metadata done.all repositories have been refreshed appear.but where i can see the installed softwares.

Look repositories are software but you have used other command to install them.
You want to install “simple” programmes so you will use these commands

Hello these are not repositories.
Try to install them

su
# zypper install vlc
# zypper install wine
# zypper install 11-video-fglrxG02-HP

i followed your steps.i got the following outputs.after what should i do please tell me.

You have not openSUSE, You have SUSE linux. As I can see in your repos.
You have downloaded through here? http://www.novell.com/linux/download_linux.html

no,i have linux cd.o.k tell me the solution i don’t want to go to novell forums.

Yes you have linux CD but where have you downloaded? So I will can help you.

i did’t download it.it comes with my laptop.it is suse linux enterprise desktop 11.is there any difference between open suse and sled in programming and terminal?please help me.

I am trying to find repositories for you. Could you wait?

You can not use openSUSE repos and still think that your SLED system will survive intact.

When you are that fond of theopenSUSE community here, why do you not instal openSUSE 11.4? Then we will be realy able to help you. As it is now you will only stumble from one problem into the other and nobody will be sure they can help you and that is also frustrating for us.

yes thank you but my laptop has no network connection instead of mobile broadband but it is also not working.

Many-many problems. We solve them one by one.
Firstly try to install openSUSE 11.4 in your computer.

Secondly thanks to Henk!

ok,hcvv the graphics and all other drivers like touchpad driver will be work in open suse.
if it works i will defanatly jump to opensuse.i think it will no longer work in open suse.:frowning:

Do not worry, install openSUSE and we are here.

ok thank you where i can download open suse 11.4 and 32bit or 64 bit.
my product has 300gb hdd and 2gb ram and intel core i3 processor.which version i can download 32 or 64bit?

You do not have openSUSE, you have the enterprise, commercial, version,
SLED. You have to ask in the SLES/SLED Novell forums, not here.

Notice that if you install openSUSE, or parts of it, you break the warranty
of your laptop.

If you want help in this forum, you have to remove SLED and install
openSUSE instead.

Good luck.
