xinit: connection to X server lost

waiting for X server to shut down

Try the following: start the system from grub in safe mode. You should be able to see the desktop. Deactivate all effects, and set the behavior of KDE to start with a new clean session every time. Shut down completely and start up normally again.
Report if you have problems. You may then try if effects can be activated again. Check in yast sorrowly if all KDE packages are installed too.

Edit: Oh, and welcome to openSUSE forums. Did see now it is your first post.

In the login screen, check Sessions, pick “KDE Plasma Workspace”, and login. That should be all.

Hi dude.Kde plasma workspace is selected, when i enter the user password it tries to load connect to x server and loads kde plasma but the screen goes blank for a sec and then goes back to kdm login screen.i have no problem in kde 4.7 but after updating kde the xserver seems to be broken:(

Hey,thanks dude. yes,it’s my first post. i always searched others’ post for my problems and never i 've post a topic my self:Pbut i haven’t found any solution this time:(i tired to login a safe mode but in this case when i enter my user and password and press enter, the screen goes blank forever and systems seems to be halted. even the ctrl+alt+delete dont work and i must reboot it hard by reset button.also if you have noticed in the xserver log i think it’s an xserver error not kde.the log unexpectedly says :" xinit: connection to X server lost"

Cheers Dude.
Thanks a lot.you solved my problem.
i googled all the day but haven’t found any thing.
i do it again and it works. you are a real moderator.

Thanks openSUSE community
