Pro Cycling manager 2009

Does anybody knows how to make pro Cycling manager 2009 working ?

It installs fine, but wont run through wine.
I have searched the net, but haven’t found anything.

Did I see 2009 well good luck I suspect you’ll be the first. By the way wine isn’t some magic pill that makes every windows game work.

Generally your best bit is to look through WineHQ - Wine Application Database then it is likely to take some tweaking.

Put the ___(Fill in the games console) on

I know it isn’t a magic pill, believe me !!
Yes, you did see 2009. Bought it yesterday.

I already have checked the Wine-application database, but nothing was there.

Neither 2009 or 2008, 2007 etc. :\

How come, no linux users playing Pro Cycling manager ?? :’(

Btw. Thanks for you reply

Hi
You could try crossover-games and see if that works?

I will right back with the result

Of course I have forgot my game at a friend, so now I have to wait :’(

Please help ! :’(

are you saying that crossover didn’t work for you?

I thought about trying it out, but than came to the conclusion that i wont pay twice for making my game run.

But maybe ill try it out later anyway … :\

hmmm…you say that there is no mention of your game in the WINE
db–a fact i think was probably true before you bought this game…

and, you have not said that you have actually tried to install or run
it in WINE (though you admit that you may be the only person wanting
to run it that way–which might be the exact reason it is not in the db)…

and, you may or may not ever try to run it in crossover (there is a
trial version)…

so, your last post ("Please help ! :’( "), leaves me kinda confused
and wondering just what kind of help you expect ???

maybe if you ask for help again you could quantify what you would like
from this community–other than trying it in WINE or crossover…

I just want to hear others experience with this game, and if maybe somebody knows how to tweak wine to make it work.

ok, then we wait and see if someone looks in and can help…actually,
you could help yourself some by trying it in WINE and reporting back…

I already did, it installs perfect without any tweaking. But when i lunch the game in wine 1.1.9 nothing happens.

But after i upgraded to wine 1.1.25 it says: The program Autorun has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Have you tried running it from the terminal, I suspect you’ll get missing xyz a billion times, at that point I wish you luck. I always found if you have to work it in then it can take days of trouble shooting, wasn’t worth the hassle for me so now I stick the xbox on.

And was I to play games on the pc then I would buy linux games,http://www.linuxgamepublishing.com/ support the guys supporting us, it is only by supporting them we’ll see changes. What is the single biggest challenge facing the Linux gaming scene?

It is difficult to buy linux games, when you play games like football manager 2009 and Pro cycling Manager 2009.

And for me this is more like a religion than a game.
I managed to get football manager 2009 to work after a lot of tweaking. Which was my demand for switching from Windows.

I really love Opensuse and the linux way of thinking, so I would hate to switch back.

The compromise might be to run Windows as a virtual guest for those
gotta-have games that don’t work. I use Virtualbox and it seems to do just
fine. Also, I’ve found that a lot of Wine programs won’t run until you
copy some missing DLL or the other from your Win installation. That’s all
it takes to get most of the stuff I load up and running. You can spot the
missing pieces when you run the app from a command line. I’ve also had
grief from autorun - usually there is a setup.exe somewhere on the distro
disk that will install just fine when autorun fails.

Thank you for your suggestion

I would have liked it to run through wine, but I think ill just run it through virtual-box as you suggested.

Thanks for you kind replies everybody!

Hi,

does anybody know if Pro Cycling Manager 08 or 09 is supported by Windows 7? If not, do you have suggestion how to play (patch, upgrade, etc.)?

Thanks
