Printing PDF

Not sure where to enter this,
being a newbie to Linux in General and Suse in particular, I installed the x64 version of 11 over the weekend. I have managed to configure printing onto a windows network machine, but can not print pdf files. Any ideas why, I am using Evince Document Viewer to open the files.

hi and welcome here…

let me ask as windows user… if you have on the windows network winxp that serv some printer and win9x pc connecting to this network. Did you needed to configure printer in last win9x? for sure you need to install drivers for this system. They normally contain at server PC…

why you think you should not make this in linux? did you try to install any drivers?

in some cases it is possible not installing anything if your printer is support ps(postcript) by hardware so linux will send ps data to it…

same with pcl but you should send pcl data

Ghostscript: Ghostscript

look at other page description languages

maybe this help you… or just install drivers for your printer and send raw data at your samba printer…

I have the printer working for everything except PDF files. Open Office etc print fine.

never have such situation…

maybe you give some more info? what printer… how you configure it… what printing line in ooo and what is in evince? did you try adobe acroread?
