printer removes top 1/2 inch of page

I’m using an HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a.

I recently updated from 11.0 to 11.2. Now the printer is not printing the top .5 inch of the page. Documents that have a .5 inch top margin now have no top margin at all. As you would expect there’s an extra .5 inch at the bottom of the page.

I printed a test page from CUPS and did not run into this. If anything there appears to be a 1/16 inch offset in the other direction. The bottom border of the test page doesn’t fit on the page.

What to do?

This may be an OpenOffice.org specific problem.

Kwrite and Gimp appear to be printing as expected.

Check the settings in the HP Device manager which should be in your systray and set the OpenOffice printer settings to Controlled by Printout mode.
