I’ve tried configuring a network printer via SMB. I’ve went to setup everything and got past the printer setup. Then I come to some tabs… Note I am using GNOME
Basically this is what I do:
YaST > Hardware > Printer > Add > Network Printers > Print via SMB Network Server > fill in info then click next > click next > Then I come to these 4 evil tabs of not setting up the printer correctly-doom (tabs are : Printer Options, Basic Settings, Status, Sharing) then I click next (or any of the tabs) and I get this error:
terminate called after throwing and instance of 'std::logic_error'
what(): basic_string::_S_construct NULL not valid
YaST got signal 6 at YCP file printer/dialogs.ycp:2569
/sbib/yast2: line 421: 9597 aborted $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y@UI_ARGS
well i would try reinstalling/updating yast2-printer (zypper install --force yast2-printer) and if that fails file a bug against yast2 in bugzilla. The yast2 devs can help you there.

If your Yast is broken, and/or the above fix does not work, you might try to
configure your printer directly with CUPS.
