I had previously had a ML1610 Samsung printer working under OpenSUSE 10.2. However under OpenSUSE 11.0 it is not recognised and the Printer module in YaST says that the USB bus is not properly configured. Anyone know anything about this?
OpenPrinting suggests it should be fine; OpenPrinting database - Printer: Samsung ML-1610
they recommend the splix driver: you have that installed?
we installed a Samsung ML-2010 recently; I installed the splix first by a terminal; (i586;LSB3.1 for us…) and then let YaST do the rest; it downloaded a gutenprint package from what I remember;and one or two other packages; a bit quick to jot them all down;
to our delight, the printer worked perfectly; but it was YaST that did the smoke and mirrors;
I’ve installed splix, still not detected at all.
Apologies, I have been very stupid.
The USB cable wasn’t fully plugged in at the printer end…
