I am trying to install a samsung ML-2851ND printer on my network with suse 11.1. I have downloaded the tarballs to my desktop for the drivers. How do I istall the printer?
Not sure you need the tarballs. The 10.3 version of Yast (which is what I use) lists this model as a supported printer. I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t be supported under 11.1.
Go into Yast -> Hardware -> Printers, and see if you can’t just add it that way. Select “network printer.”
