prime95 openSUSE 12.2 memory access error

I wanted to test my system with prime95 but when i try to start it in the console all I get is that memory access error, not sure I got the translation right, my systems language is not english.
I tried 32 and 64bit versions, do you need any information regarding my system?

i had never heard of Prime95 so i went to
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime95 where i read:

[quote]
MPrime is the Linux command-line interface version of Prime95, to be run
in a text terminal or in a terminal emulator window as a remote shell
client. It is identical to Prime95 in functionality, except it lacks a
graphical user interface.

so, if you are actually trying to run Prime95 you WILL have troubles…

hmmmmm, but it looks to be not something to TEST your computer with, but
rather something to run (forever) to help find the next higher prime
number…

dd

Well at least on windows you could use it to just run some stress tests which showed whether there were any errors in the computations or you could just test whether your coolers were performing good enough in a “hardcore environment”.

I was executing prime from the console.

The classical stress test in Linux is to build a kernel.
