Precision T3500 Tower Workstation Desktop Computer

I had a project for my company to use SUSE 11 as a Internet Kiosk operating system, so, I have to makesure that the workstation that I will buy compatible with the SUSE 11. As I mention, main reason to use SUSE 11 is because of its desktop effect and to attract our customer to explore the SUSE 11 itself.

So, I provide the link of the workstation specifications so that SUSE’s team will identify which of the hardware that currenty not compatible with SUSE 11, I had referred to the hardware compatibility site, but my hardware did not listed there.

I hope someone can help me on this.

That configuration will work for you.
Make sure that you don’t purchase the Windo$ that is offered with it.

Thanks syampillai

I plan to buy the workstation without any OS at all, if possible. I just afraid if there is some conflict/erroneous with the nVidia graphic card.

Frankly, I want to avoid any risk when buying this product.

nVidia card drivers are available (opensource as well as from nVidia).

Right now i do the testing using nVidia quadro FX 1700, but when i try to enable the desktop effect it suddenly the effect goes back to disable. Suppose there is no problem with the graphic card right?.

So, whats the problem actually. Currently, im using HP LP2275w LCD Monitor. Maybe it because of the monitor, probably?.

For the desktop effects to work properly, you need to use the driver from the nVidia site (available at openSUSE site too).

You don’t need the driver from nvidia.
Just add the repo, a howto is here Add Package Repositories to YaST - openSUSE

Read more here NVIDIA - openSUSE
