After doing a software update yesterday, my KDE desktop shuts down every 10 to 15 seconds with the message “Power management has locked the desktop”. I then need to re-enter my password to unlock, but it shuts down again every few seconds. My screensaver setting in “Desktop configuration” is set to “off”. How to change power management settings?
Thanks!
In the ‘Configure Desktop’
Advanced tab
‘Power Management’ section
Thanks for the roadmap - works fine again! Every power saving option was enabled by default in this section, especially the laptop options which don’t apply to my setup. I must say that power saving in general does seem important especially for laptop users, but should not be the default. Having a 10 or 15 second shutdown and lockdown time as default is too agressive, to say the least. KDE has come a long way in a few years. I can barely keep up with the new features!
