Hi, all!
I have a very strange issue and I would be happy if someone could help me …
so here it is … I am running openSuse 12 with KDE … I had a problem with the configuration of the toolbar, so I understood that restoring the kde desktop is with using the command
rm -rf .kde4
so it fixed the problem but now the Configure Desktop is not working … I actually need it for the power management of the system …
I used the Power Profiles for configuring the power management … but it is not working because the monitor is switching off after some minutes even thou I managed it from Power Profiles not to turn off …
Can someone help me with this ?

You can open the menu, pick run command (or do an Alt-F2) and enter: systemsettings, then select Power Management and finally elect to Edit Profile. I have noticed a tendency for the screen to blank even when not told to in Power Settings and no screen Saver is selected. I will say that removing all of the .kde4 settings is not what I suggest. I often just create a new user and remove my old one and you can even create the old user back after removing it as long as you don’t mind redoing your configurations. Please let us know if this suggestion about using the command **systemsettings **was helpful to you.
Thank You,
Hi, @jdmcdaniel3 !
Thanks for the replay … pitty, but systemsettings is showing the SystemInfo icon/link to it, but after clicking on that the configuration or anything is not showing!
Do you think that if I now create a new user - he will come with the correct folder structure(if from this comes the problem) and with nicely woring configuration settings ?
And will the programs I installed with my current user will work with the new user ?
Thank you very much for trying to help!
