Hi everybody. Before reporting this, I would like somebody to try this out. We all have heard about the “come by the lock screen” tricks for android phone. Now I do not know if this goes as far as this but at least with the aforementioned install, I encountered a bug that would be, if this confirms, to be (at least in my view) a real issue, especially if the machine is shared.
Please try this out and tell me if this works also for you:
- create two users A and B.
- create a document in A (write something - text or what you wish and leave it full screen)
- block the session.
- Now log into as user B with switch user…and logout of B again with “switch user” choosing A.
The result (with me) is:
for a second the screen is entirely visible before the lock works. I have not found out if interaction is possible, but anyway I think this is potentially severe in working environments where machines are used by several users. Imagine a confidential letter or technical information that can be photographed as screen shot.
Now, I am using a Laptop with external monitor and that could cause it. The graphics card is Intel, driver 915 and the processor a Core i5 M520.
The local file settings are on “local secure”.
Am I the only one to encounter this (so this is graphics card depended)? We can also discuss if this is important or not. Personally I think the problem of lock screen is that it should lock the screen. Reliably.
Edit: this is 12.2 64 bit.
