Posting on locked thread. How come?

Some time ago on request from a forum mod I posted an unreviewed how-to about vmware player. Some time ago I wanted to add a comment but the thread has been closed - since February, I think. It is still closed, but a non-mod user just posted on it two days ago. How come?

News readers are different and have different policies and protocols. Since they don’t through the web interface, it’s basically like an email, so the thread is updated with the new post, even though it’s closed. We almost always ask NNTP users to not post to closed threads. Apparently, this user did not notice this thread was closed.

So I will ask to find out, but the intent of such posts is to provide how to information for our users. But, some of our members decide to ask questions there instead of putting them in the correct forum. I, like most everyone, would then try to help them even though its not the proper location to do so. You have not done anything wrong I can see. We just want to encourage our users to post questions in the proper location.

hmmmmm…i don’t think Carlos asked a question…instead, i think he
added information…

and, i think he “did not notice this thread was closed” because nntp
users can’t ‘see’ the thread is closed (and there is no message in the
thread saying it is)

so, imho no foul…just good intentions. (and, probably good new info)

I had no idea it was closed, sorry.
Was there a message in the thread saying that it is closed? I didn’t see it.

Also, it seems to be the only closed thread in that forum…
