I did a fresh install of openSUSE11.1 and so by default KDE4.1 is installed. I want to update it to the latest KDE4.3
How to do that? Is it necessary to first upgrade to KDE4.2?
How to remove the default firefox and install firefox3.5.1?
Any links for beginner’s post installation?

That post says to upgrade to 4.2 first. Do you think that is essential? Why cant I directly upgrade directly to 4.3?
I hope yast can resolve the dependencies. I’ve moved from Debian so I dont know much about openSUSE.

ok, let me get this right: you don’t know much about openSUSE, but on
the other hand the how-to is written by a guy named Carl
<http://forums.opensuse.org/members/caf4926.html> who is a moderator
here and has made over NINE THOUSAND posts…
then you ask me why he made it the way he did, and what i think?
i think installing KDE4.1 is a giant waste of time (unless one is an
eye-candy hound), but if i were to do it i’d immediately update to
4.3 using Carls how-to exactly, and i wouldn’t even ask him (not
me!) why i shouldn’t do it direct from 4.1 to 4.3!
but, you sure can try to go direct .1 to .3, and if successful you are
invited to write the how-to for that…or, just tag your better way on
to Carl’s thread…

Hi,
well, I took the advised upgrade path:
4.1 -> 4.2 -> 4.3
at present my system is updating to 4.2 (1GB download reqd).
Then on weekend I’ll upgrade it to 4.3RC3 or may be next week i directly install 4.3.
