Possible to use the middle mouse as a pressable button?

in windows xp, firefox lets me press the the scroller button. When the scroller button is pressed a circular icon with two triangles and a dot in the middle comes up, and from here i can move the entire mouse up or down to scroll quickly. this doesn’t seem to work for firefox in opensuse or ubuntu. I’m wondering if it is possible to make firefox in openSuse to utilize this function?

Type about:config in the firefox address bar.

Type autoscroll in the filter box.

Change value to true.

Et voila!

ETA: And while you’re in there, type ipv6 and change value to true as well, and firefox will probably go faster.

Thanks :), now openSuse just got better
