I’m using Firefox 7.0.1 on Opensuse 11.4 and the browser tells me I should update to at least Mesa version 7.10.3 to work correctly. I’m also having some general trouble with graphics on this computer, so it would probably be a good idea.
Question, though… Is it possible to use a newer version of Mesa than 7.10.2 on 11.4 (x86_64)? Yes, I googled, and no I didn’t find an answer. (I have a ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330, if it makes any difference…)
I have had good luck with updating this when using Intel Graphics. I had at least one bad experience when using the proprietary nVIDIA video driver. My suggestion is to uninstall ALL proprietary video drivers (if you installed any) before you attempt to update mesa.
Hi
I’m running 11.4 GNOME 3.2.1 with Firefox 8.0 Mesa 7.10.2 without
issues? I would guess it’s more likely an issue with your graphics
driver that Mesa/Firefox.
