Possible to Upgrade to 13.2 Beta?

A quick question- is it possible for one to upgrade to the current 13.2 beta from a 13.1 install?

Thanks!

Possible - yes
Advised - No

You want to join the testers? Then you better install 13.2 in a spare system or in a virtual environment. And even when you want to use your current 13.1 system for testing 13.2 better do a fresh install (where you can of course keep your /home as it is when you have /home on a separate partition).

I like to test development releases on all my systems as just because
it works on one machine doesn’t mean it will work on another. I have
partitioned each machine with three “/” partitions, one for
operational, one for test, and one spare which I use for installing the
final production release so that, in the unlikely event that there’s a
problem with it, I can reboot to the previous operational system.

Although I use a separate /home partition, this does not rule out
problems with switching from one system to another. The usual trouble
is when I have two different releases of KDE; switching between them is
not much fun and I always try to back up .kde4 before the switch so I
can go back when things go haywire.

It is very nice you want to test openSUSE 13.2. But the real forum for those people is the Pre-release/Beta forum. So better go there when you have more questions/problems with 13.2

Yes, it is possible, same as with any other version.

However, beta is beta, and things are expected to break, and one of the
things that can break is, of course, updating/upgrading. And when they
do, you are expected to contribute and report (in bugzilla).

Or, in other words, you are paving the road as you go

On the other hand, the beta at this moment is close to finished, as
release of 13.2 final is planned for November 4th. So you are pretty
safe
