Possible bug: Error reading CD

Seven Kingdoms II: The Frythans Wars CD-rom is visible by system as audio cd. On older systems it is recognized correctly. I can still open the drive by mount it with -t iso9660 parameter. Should I do bug report?

You might want to post some information from the logs when you try to
mount it and see what turns up.

Also include information here about the DE and version of openSUSE you’re
using. That’ll help folks here determine if this is working as it should
or if indeed it is a bug.

That’s for you to decide. But if you do, please post the bug number.

I have two 8G USB drives. Call one of them usbA, and the other usbB.

I have copied the iso of the Tumbleweed DVD installer to usbA. And I can boot that and install from it (and have recently done so).

I have copied the iso of the recent Debian release to usbB. I presume that I can boot it and install from it, though I have not yet tried.

Getting to the point:

If I plug in usbA, nothing happens. The KDE device notifier never says anything.
If I plug in usbB, the device notifier immediately tells me that it is there and available for mounting.

I’m not sure if its a bug or a feature :stuck_out_tongue:

This appears in dmesg after inserting CD

When mount the same information where added to dmesg. This is output of mount:

mount: /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so.
