poor battery life on medion i5 processor.

hello everyone, would like some ideas on this. I am dualbooting opensuse12.2 64 bit with windows 7 home premium 64bit SP1 installed. I have a dedicated nvidia geoforce gt540m 1GB card. 1TB hard drive and 8 gig ram. The problem is that when I am running Opensuse my battery life is on a fully charged battery is 1 hr 50m. When I am running Windoze it is 3hrs 30mins. I am not running any memory intensive programmes. I thought my first battery was no good and medion replaced it as I have had the laptop only 6 months!! but the new one is no different. Any help or ideas gratefully accepted - I am running the laptop on very low settings for screen brightness etc.

On a personal note, Merry Christmas everyone.

If you don’t need bumblebee go for bbswitch only, that will give you at least 50% longer battery life.

That alone could explain the problem, if the machine while on battery
uses the nvidia side instead of the intel graphics.
