I can listen to the police radio at this address, just fine, but after 3 or four minutes it drops off. Using FF 3.01/ If I use Opera same thing happens. What do I need to fix?
Seems fine.
Except I was ready to start sticking pins in myself after 3 mins to see if I was still alive!
LOL! I have vlc, media player etc. Is there something else?
For me it just opens a new FF web tuner window. VLC is not involved.
It notes that player needed to play this media is not installed. Then it says ignore and play anyway. If I use my ubuntu machine it does not say that, it just says listen.
Looks like this for me

So I am missing something, don’t know what. It does say MP3 not detected, and Windows media player not detected and real player not detected.
Make sure you have run thru this
Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide - openSUSE Forums
I have vlc-mozilla plugin installed from packman too but it doesn’t appear to be using that.

perhaps you have not installed either/both players and made them
available to Firefox?

Well, it asked me for vlc mozilla plugin. Try installing w32-codecs in case you don’t have them.
I have all the above. I am beginning to think it is the stream is interuppted and not a software problem. My Ubuntu machine drops the audio from time to time as well. Problem is intermittent. I conclude it is not the systems.
OK I just realized you are also trying to update FF and can’t.
I am using FF 3.5
Notice what this says
Firefox Updated
see where it says Watch This!
Let me help you update FF in the other thread.
